Your source for the most reliable resources documenting and celebrating Bell and his beloved wife, Mabel.
We’re here to capture, preserve, and share their legacy for generations.
What happens to the life experiences and accomplishments of human history’s most accomplished pioneers when they’re gone? Sadly, their stories can become muddled with inaccuracy and lost to the sands of time.
That’s where AMBLF comes in.
It’s our mission to provide the public with the most in-depth, accurate information about the life and achievements of Alec and Mabel Bell. Our foundation seeks to safeguard the Bells’ physical, intellectual, and philanthropic contributions to society through our website, historical archives, and curated programs.
You’ve come to the right place.
Our organization comprises a team of distinguished scholars, including award-winning journalists, researchers, business leaders, educators, and public servants. All of our articles, artifacts, and programs are expertly curated to provide the most authentic insights into the life and work of AGB available.
Driven by passion. Formed out of necessity.
Time has a way of scattering many priceless objects across the world. From the famed crown jewels of Ireland to the 13 mysteriously vanished pieces of art from the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, many human treasures have been stolen and misappropriated, never to be seen again.
So imagine our surprise in the summer of 2013 when we learned that several long-lost, authentic Alexander Graham Bell materials had surfaced at a public auction! So we set out to recover the original, hand-written notebooks documenting Bell’s innovations in aviation as well as personal letters from Bell from being offered at auction. Rather than allow Bell’s personal items to continue circulating underground, our purpose was to reclaim them and share them with the public via our website, museums, the Library of Congress, and other secure locations.
The experience demonstrated a clear need for a dedicated entity to preserve and protect Bells’ legacy. And by February of 2014, the Alexander and Mabel Bell Legacy Foundation was officially established to continue our work of doing just that.
